This invitation suite centered around three main things:

• A favourite painting of an abstract jester and his bride.

• The couple were both librarians and avid book lovers, so needed to be based around books.

• Both Lucy & Marek absolutely LOVE their cat.

To begin, we decided on the colour theme, inspired by the beautiful paining, and picked out some motifs and patterns that could be used as inspiration for the stationery. We included some cat motifs, based on the unique style of the abstract painting, and made a save the date Bookmark with brass eyelet and matching tassel, that would have all the information and would be something that the recipients would keep and use.

We had so much fun creating the amazing wedding invitation book. All the tiny details really added to the whole experience - hand stitched binding, letterpress printed end papers, ex libris label with individual calligraphy names, place keeping ribbon, and with a delightful map inside too. All the information for the wedding was found inside and we included a full colour mini print of the painting that inspired the invitation. The outer envelopes were printed with a cat motif and had navy hand calligraphies addresses.

I love the brighter and more unusual colours in this invite, the beautiful bright red contrasting so well with the emerald, mint green and turquoise. used with the gold foil it looks really spectacular. Definitely still one of my favourite suites we’ve ever created.
